  1. Hi Al,
Just listened to your podcast and found it very informative and interesting. Anna advised me to – so I did and no regrets. I am new on Strong First but find the concept of A&A and work capacity fascinating compared to Max Reps and long recovery- I find my recovery times improved already and listening to you convinced me I am on the right track. Cheers!

      1. Al, Thanks for the generous offer there really appreciate that. I feel after just a short time on Strong First there is really something that I could develop for my sport, climbing /Alpine. I just can’t use max strength protocols any morr.

  2. I absolutely enjoyed it. I know that your sound and holistic approach works like a charm as I am implementing some profound aspects of your experience for three years now doing the A+A theme.

Alactic + Aerobic + Repeat is a recipe for lifelong healthy programming without a program. It is work, but not “hard” work. The more I do it, the more I see it as a playground.

Thanks a lot for your input, I appreciate it with delight.

  3. Amazing podcast! Wondering how I get a copy of Al’s PT manual? I am about to start training Tactical Paramedics up here in Canada and looking for ideas.

    1. I responded already to your email, Dan. Let me know if I can be of further assistance with your professional project.

      And thank you!

  4. I’m not good at listening to things like this but I put this on thinking I’ll just see how it is and was absolutely fascinated. Such a knowledgeable person with the ability to express that knowledge. I could relate to so much that he said from my own experience put in a way that I never could. His self-knowledge and candour are admirable. I have enjoyed articles by Al but this was off the chart for me. I wished it could have been longer. Thank you so much.

  5. Training under Al’s guidance for just one cycle has been a game changer on many levels. I’ve pushed past mental barriers and long standing plateaus, all while acquiring a framework for long term, sustainable progress. 10/10

  6. Great interview, I’ve trained under Al’s tutelage and can say that what you see is what you get. I too would like to thank Al for all the advice he gives on the forum. He is a very giving person. Many of the questions he answers would not be answered by other trainers unless you were a client.
